Alice before school

Alice was a fantastic baby and little girl. Unlike other new parents, we didn't experience colic or wakefulness during the night. Instead, what we had was a happy, content baby, who loved her tucker and loved all the attention she gained from her extended family. Once she could stand she quickly learned to dance, and used to holding onto the edge of Grandma Smith's couch and jiggling to Grandma Smith's records - "Seventy-Six Trombones" was her favorite song. Alice finally learned to walk when she was 16 months old. By this time she had the first of her baby brothers, Julian. Then, by the time she was 3 years old, she had her second baby brother, James. Unfortuantely she had a persistent case of sibling jealousy with James - something that didn't go away until she about 14 years old! Notheless she was a great big sister to her brothers - who were almost as old as she. At this time she loved nothing better than drawing and reading stories - she was a confident reader by the time she started school. In preschool (at around 4 years of age), Alice made firm friends with a couple of girls, Tamsyn, Naomi, and Kerry - friendships that were to endure for many years.
