Alice and her boyfriend went out ot dinner on the 14th, then they went to the Community Housing complex, where unfortunately they had an argument. The people who also lived at the complex were having a party which Alice and her boyfriend decided to join. It appears that in typical Aussie style the boys were in one part of the flat while the girls were in another. There was lots of the drink at the party, marijuana, ecstasy. There was also a bottle of methadone syrup which had beeen diverted from the ACT's Methadone Program, that is to say, one of the party-goers had obtained the bottle from a man who was on the Methadone Program. Alice was angry at her boyfriend and spent much of the night with girlfriends discussing the situation. It is alleged that Alice poured about a tablespoon of the syrup into a bottle of beer and drank it. Another girl did the same, only she vomited afterwards, while Alice didn't.
